Rencontre des auteurs francophones: Nos Histoires d’Amérique (en français)

Avec le livre collectif Nos Histoires d’Amérique, le réseau Rencontre des auteurs francophones a souhaité, à l’occasion des 250 ans de l’indépendance des États-Unis, célébrer la richesse et la diversité des liens que la Francophonie entretient avec ce continent-roman.

Vous êtes conviés à une rencontre avec trois auteurs ayant participé à ce projet: Anna Alexis Michel, directrice éditoriale, Matthew Farnsworth et Aby M'baye. Nous discuterons avec eux de la création du réseau Rencontre des auteurs francophones et de l’objet de la démarche collective ayant menée à ce recueil de nouvelles qui explorent l’Amérique dans sa profondeur humaine, sensible, onirique, drôle, tragique, quotidienne ou légendaire. Les auteurs partageront également leur inspiration, leur processus d’écriture et leurs objectifs créatifs. Nous terminerons avec une activité d’écriture dans laquelle vous serez invités à partager quelques lignes inspirées du regard que vous portez sur votre Amérique.

Anna Alexis Michel: Artiste pluridisciplinaire, auteure de romans, essais et pièce de théâtre. Sa pièce a été jouée au Filmore Miami. Enseignante, spécialiste de la narration, elle est la directrice éditoriale des éditions Rencontre des Auteurs Francophones.

Aby M’baye: Artiste-auteur pluridisciplinaire franco-sénégalaise. Elle vit entre Paris, Dakar et New York. Elle est en résidence artistique au Kunstraum de New York durant le printemps 2026.

Matthew Farnsworth: Natif de l’Outaouais au Québec, il vit à Montréal depuis plus de 45 ans. Il a publié un premier roman en 2012 chez Québec-Amérique et, depuis juillet 2020, il profite de la retraite pour lire et écrire.

Le programme sera modéré par Philippe Poirier, directeur exécutif de l’Alliance Française de Philadelphie et vice-président à la Fédération des Alliances Françaises des États-Unis.

With the collective work Nos Histoires d’Amérique, the Rencontre des auteurs francophones network sought, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, to celebrate the richness and diversity of the ties that the Francophone world maintains with this continent-novel.

You are invited to join a conversation with three authors who contributed to the project: Anna Alexis Michel, editorial director, Matthew Farnsworth, and Aby M’baye. We will discuss with them the creation of the Rencontre des auteurs francophones network and the collective approach that led to this anthology of short stories exploring America in all its human, emotional, dreamlike, humorous, tragic, everyday, and legendary dimensions. The authors will also share their inspiration, writing process, and creative goals. We will conclude with a writing activity in which participants will be invited to share a few lines inspired by their own perspective on America.

Anna Alexis Michel: A multidisciplinary artist and author of novels, essays, and a play that was performed at the Fillmore Miami. A teacher and storytelling specialist, she is the editorial director of Éditions Rencontre des Auteurs Francophones.

Aby M’baye: A multidisciplinary Franco-Senegalese artist and writer. She lives between Paris, Dakar, and New York, and is currently in artistic residence at Kunstraum in New York during the spring of 2026.

Matthew Farnsworth: Originally from the Outaouais region of Quebec, he has lived in Montreal for more than 45 years. He published his first novel in 2012 with Québec-Amérique and, since July 2020, has devoted his retirement to reading and writing.

The program will be moderated by Philippe Poirier, Executive Director of the Alliance Française of Philadelphia and Vice President of the Federation of Alliances Françaises USA.
