Groupes de conversation : de nombreuses approches !
Virtually all Alliance Française small chapters have a conversation group. But the variety of approaches is amazing. Here are a few examples:
- Of course, nearly all Francophiles like to drink coffee, eat pastries and chat en français. Toward that end, AF Salt Lake City holds Café Causerie at Délice French Bakery, AF Providence holds Café Croissants, and AF Jackson enjoys their time at Broadstreet Bakery, and AF Princeton’s group at McCaffrey’s Supermarket.
- To attract new members, in particular younger people, several chapters use the social media web site, MEETUP. These include the Conversation en Français of AF Grosse Pointe and Parlons of AF New Haven.
- Another approach to attract younger members is the Les Jeunes Professionals program at AF Charleston.
- After the Covid pandemic, many groups shifted to a ZOOM format, including AF Baltimore, AF Rochester, and AF Napa Valley (Les Copains).
- Wouldn’t we all love to attend the next Café Français at the Coral Beach Club sponsored by AF Bermuda?
