Discovering Bordeaux: A Remarkable Immersion Experience for the Alliance Française of Reno Tahoe

From September 29 to October 3, eighteen members from the Alliance Française of Reno Tahoe took part in an unforgettable language immersion trip to Bordeaux. For our young and growing chapter, this achievement is especially meaningful. Chapters of our size rarely bring together such a large group for an overseas educational experience, making this journey a proud milestone.

Hosted by the Alliance Française de Bordeaux Nouvelle Aquitaine, participants spent their mornings in French classes led by outstanding instructors known for their warmth and engaging teaching style. Afternoons were devoted to exploring the beauty of southwest France, including visits to the seaside town of Arcachon and the village of Saint-Émilion, renowned for its Bordeaux wines and picturesque charm.

Members returned home inspired by their experiences and full of praise for both the high-quality instruction and the enriching cultural activities. “It was the perfect blend of language learning and discovery,” one participant said.

Since returning, these members have more actively participated in Alliance Française Reno Tahoe events such as our weekly conversation group and a recent master pâtissier demonstration. The enthusiasm and friendships formed in Bordeaux continue to strengthen our growing community and reaffirm our shared passion for the French language and culture.

This Bordeaux immersion marks an important step forward in our chapter’s young history—and the promise of many more adventures ahead!
