Part
of an international network but funded locally and
run by volunteers,
Alliance Française of Tucson is a
grassroots effort. It depends on your support to continue
programs and offer more to members and the community.
Goals include
professional French classes and our own space with
mediathèque which would make more activities possible
as well as foster informal contacts.
The
Alliance Française has no political or religious
affiliation and welcomes members and volunteers
of any age, sex, color, national or ethnic
origin, sexual orientation,
gender identity, religion.
Alliance
Française of
Tucson is registered as a 501 (c)3 organization so contributions
and noncash gifts may be deductible
depending on your tax situation. You can mail checks to Alliance
Française Tucson PO Box 40533 Tucson AZ 85717-0533
or bring your contribution to a meeting. If you prefer to mail in with a membership form, a pdf or print version is available by request.
Membership
By becoming a member, you support current programs and provide
a base for even more French-related activities in southern
Arizona. Each membership counts when seeking grants and
partnerships with other groups. Membership cards, receipts
if requested, and name tags will be available
at meetings.
Your
benefits include:
- reduced
rate for special events and fundraisers;
- participation
in AF volunteer-led interest groups like Cinéphiles,
Cercle littéraire, reading French literature
in translation, pétanque, conversation
groups;
- invitations
to member-only events such as the annual holiday
party;
- access
to Federation of
Alliances Françaises USA programs
such as the Convention and Annual Meeting, next
hosted by AF New Orleans, October
2010, and publications;
- discounts from France-Amérique, France
Today,
TV5 and others.

Donations
Your
donation to Alliance Française Tucson promotes a global
outlook in southern Arizona. AF
Tucson is a registered 501(c) 3 charitable organization so
donations are tax deductible. Besides financial contributions,
Alliance Française of Tucson gratefully welcomes donations
of goods from individuals or businesses, such as:
- new
books and media for students and teachers of French;
- food
and beverages
for meetings and special events;
- gift
items for raffles or door prizes at fundraisers;
- office
space.

one day, once a month,
or more! You will gain a sense of satisfaction,
new or improved skills, a chance to get to know others
who also care about French.
Volunteering
has even been found to be
good for
health!
If
you itemize on your taxes, out-of-pocket expenses may be
tax-deductible contributions when you serve as a volunteer,
including car mileage.
Alliance
Française of Tucson is
a member of the Volunteer
Center of Southern Arizona.
It lists some of our volunteer opportunities,
such as:
- planning for Alliance classes,
- helping
to set up at a monthly meeting.
Other
possibilities:
