Alliance Francaise d'Omaha, NE

Bienvenue! Welcome!

Welcome to Alliance Française d'Omaha. Our organization was founded in 1917 and our purpose is to promote French language and French culture.

Our city of Omaha is the largest in Nebraska and we are proud of our various organizations. Omaha is home of the Joslyn Museum, the Western Heritage Museum, the Henry Doorly Zoo and Rosenblat Stadium. In June of each year, we host the College World Series. Many corporate headquarters have made their home here, like Union Pacific Railroad, First Data Corporation, ConAgra Foods and Valmont Industries.

When Lewis and Clark ventured up the Missouri River, they were guided by many French Canadian citizens who were able to communicate with the Indian tribes more readily. Many of our Nebraskan cities and towns were named for their French heritage.

Today, the Alliance Française d'Omaha appeals to both a French community longing to stay connected to their French culture and heritage and to individuals wanting to learn the French language and experience French culture.

Good news:  We have received a favorable determination letter from the IRS giving us approval as a 501©3 organization.  This means any contributions to Alliance Française d’Omaha are deductible.
