What:
The Tuesday October
23 meeting at 7:00 will be held in the Goins building
Auditorium at Pellissippi State Technical Community College
with the showing of the film Joyeux Noël (PG 2006) as part
of the French Film Festival Oct. 22-24.
The film will be introduced by Saralee Peccolo-Taylor who
is president of the Tennessee Chapter of the American
Association of Teachers of French and who teaches at
Pellissippi State and at Powell High School.
The film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign
Language Film of the Year in 2005. It is the poignant true
story of a Christmas Eve celebrated during World War I
along the Western Front when French, British and German
soldiers called an informal truce, even though they were
aware that their superiors would not tolerate its
occurrence.
