Conversation

Lecture-Conversation (Explication de textes)

Every second Monday of the month
COS COB LIBRARY, Meeting Room , 1.30 pm

Conversation is among the most treasured elements of French culture.

"Lecture-Conversation" allows members to improve on vocabulary and pronunciation in a casual atmosphere. Each group member reads a French text aloud, then the group discusses the text together in order to improve grasp and expression of the language.

Lead by a native French speaker, "Lecture-Conversation" meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 1pm at the Byram Library.

Causeries

Topic-driven "Causeries" invite members to practice comprehension of written text and spoken language among native and non-native speakers.

In advance of each meeting, the group receives an article on a current event written in French. During meetings, native speakers lead breakout groups to foster a better understanding of the intricate French language.

Held the second Monday of each month at 1:30pm at the Cos Cob Library, starting September 11, 2006.
