Committees


The work of the Federation is done through its Committees.
The current committees are listed below together with their chairs.

Alliance Française members who would like to participate in any of these areas are invited to contact the Chair of the committee which they would like to join. Inquiries can be sent to federation@afusa.org.

2008: Annual Meeting: Mimi Gregory Mary Emory, Becca Brodarick, Carole Crosby
CHARGE:
To oversee budget & programming;
To provide site coordination
To suggest revenue sources
To coordinate with local AF
To provide general organization
To establish workshops, presenters, panels, moderators ;
To organize the exhibits;
One free registration - Member Chapter

Audit: Keith Maillard
CHARGE:
Implement guidelines for compliance with legislation e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley;


Chapter Support: Bernie Duhaime and Julie Lindquist
Charge: To obtain information from member chapters by annual survey in order to establish areas where support in terms of products and services can be delivered to them by the Federation. This committee replaces what was formerly the Annual Survey Committee.

Charbonnier Award: Chris Pinet
CHARGE:
To solicit and seek Board approval for the candidates

Cultural Offerings à la carte: Alexandra Stafford
CHARGE:
To oversee the "Cultural Offerings – à la Carte" program


One Book/One Federation: Elaine Harris and Randy Williams
CHARGE:
To oversee choice of book selection

Education: Misa Bourdoiseau
CHARGE:
To work with Delegation on AFRAMES and oversee other educational activities

Finance: David Thoms, Keith Maillard
CHARGE:
To oversee budgets and finances of the Federation
To review investment strategy
To oversee payroll

Governance: Claude Schlesinger, Keith Maillard, Chris Pinet, Bernie Duhaime
CHARGE:
To oversee the planning, influencing and cnducting of the policy and affairs of the organization

To oversee Federation's personal contact with small chapters

To evaluate Development opportunities

To determine representation needs of Federation
To solicit nominations;
To oversee the election process

Publications/Website:Joe Rivlin
CHARGE:
To create and distribute FAF newsletter "Federation Forum" and "Le Mag"
To create Annual Meeting printed program
To find advertisers and solicit articles

Regionalization: Misa Bourdoiseau and Bernie Duhaime
CHARGE:
To support regional communications/meetings

Strategic Planning: Keith Maillard, Marie-Laure Arnaud, Alexandra Stafford
CHARGE:
To evaluate current Strategic Plan and see that Plan is considered in decisions

Website: Joe Rivlin

CHARGE:
Oversee the creation of new material and updating and maintenance of Federation website.

Each Committee Chair is responsible to provide the Web Site Committee Chair with information to keep his/her Committee projects updated, and for the removal of obsolete information.
