  • Constituent Chapters without a school or with schools of less than 100 students: 1 vote

  • Constituent Chapters with schools of from 101 to 299 students: 2 votes

  • Constituent Chapters with schools of more than 300 students: 3 votes

  • Eligibility and Nomination Procedures

  • Members of the Board of Directors are elected to three-year terms of office, and are limited to two consecutive terms. (At the end of two terms, a person must go off the Board for a minimum of one year before being eligible for renomination.)

  • The terms of office are staggered so that approximately one-third of the Board members are up for election or re-election in any given year. The Board of Directors selects its officers from its membership.

  • Each spring, the Nominating Committee establishes the criteria for nominations and solicits names of candidates from the chapters and from chapter members. The Committee seeks to keep a balance of geographical regions, types/sizes of AFs, and diverse perspectives.

  • To make a nomination or to suggest a potential candidate, contact: federation@afusa.org

  • Prior to the annual meeting, the Nominating Committee circulates to all member chapters a list of persons being nominated together with their qualifications. The names of the nominees are also listed on the web site.
